Las Vegas, Nev. (November 05, 2014) – Local Motors today announces the ModMen Challenge, a bold competition that asks the hot rod and motor vehicle aftermarket community to “hack up” and modify a 3D-printed vehicle, just like they would any other car. The contest starts online, where participants submit design modification proposals designed for and built on the same 3D-printed car model. After an online voting round, 12 “ModMen” winners will be awarded a real 3D-printed vehicle on which to bring their winning designs to life. The ModMen Challenge culminates at SEMA 2015, where all 12 of the modified cars will be presented and judged, with one vehicle emerging victorious as the grand prize winner and title of ultimate “ModMan.”

Pauls Valley, Okla. – July 30, 2015 – Before the historic Petersen Museum Vault was closed to facilitate the museum’s historic renovation project, the Executive Director turned to Covercraft Industries for custom-fit vehicle covers. Covercraft, the pioneer in car covers, partnered with Kimberly-Clark® to donate more than 100 custom made covers for the Vault’s world-renowned vehicle collection.
“We worked directly with Kimberly-Clark® on this project,” stated Marty Lichtmann. “The Block-it® Dustop® fabric was selected because it’s the thickest, most dust-resistant and softest material we offer for interior vehicle protection.”
To ensure a custom fit for each vehicle, the covers were made only after identifying the vehicles in the collection. Covercraft staff invested nearly a year making personal visits to the Vault to measure each vehicle on the list.
